
WOOD STYLES 
Wood floors come in a variety of styles to meet the demands of today’s lifestyles. There are many colors, species, and grades to choose from. Here are a few of the wood types that are available from Creative Hardwood Floors.
Red Oak – This is probably the most popular flooring species. It is cost-effective, very hardy, and adds exceptional value to your home at an affordable price. Red oak does amber over time and oak does accept stain easily. |

White Oak – White oak is slightly darker and grayer than red oak. White oak can also be stained. |

Maple – Maple does amber over time. We don’t recommend staining maple. |

American Cherry – American Cherry will darken with age. American Cherry is one of the softer woods. It does dent more easily than harder woods. |

Brazilian Cherry – Brazilian Cherry is a rich wood that is darker than American Cherry. Brazilian Cherry also ages in areas exposed to light so it will darken over time. Its color works well on an entire floor or as a border. |

Red Birch – Red birch will amber over time. This wood is stable and hard which makes it a good choice just about anywhere. |

Ash – It is similar in appearance to white oak, but frequently more yellow. Ash will amber over time and we do not recommend staining Ash. |

Hickory – Hickory can amber over time and we do not recommend staining hickory. This wood is hard and it is beautiful with its striking patterns of light tans and warm browns. |

Walnut – Walnut can lighten over time. Walnut is frequently used as a highlight material for borders and other inlay techniques. |
